The auction is over, the speeches are done, the guests have all gone home. With the Association of Corporate Treasurers (ACT) Annual Dinner behind us, Hand in Hand International is pleased to announce we raised more than £65,000 on the night as the ACT’s Charity of the Year.

The proceeds, 20 percent above target, will go towards funding the ACT Village in Kenya, creating more than 275 new microbusinesses and 350 new jobs. Ten percent will go to the ACT Charity.

“We are truly delighted by the ACT board and membership’s generosity,” said Hand in Hand CEO Dorothea Arndt. “On behalf of hundreds of future Hand in Hand entrepreneurs, the team in London and our colleagues in Kenya, thank you.”

Caroline Stockmann, the ACT’s Chief Executive, said: “When the ACT selected Hand in Hand as its Charity of the Year, we knew its focus on sustainability through enterprise would resonate with our membership. We are delighted of course with such a resounding response, and would like to thank our members for their support, and of course Hand in Hand for the great work they do.”

Held at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel, the annual gala was attended by more than 1,500 treasury and finance professionals from throughout the UK. Sandi Toksvig, OBE, of The Great British Bake Off and QI was the night’s keynote speaker.
