Countries of origin for Hand in Hand International staff and volunteers

It’s been more than four months since we last checked in with Hand in Hand International secondee Klara Mayer, who joined us in April from Janssen Austria, a pharmaceutical company of Johnson & Johnson.

A lot’s happened since then – and not just in terms of getting to know the restaurant staff up and down Baker Street. Having accustomed herself to working in a third sector environment, Klara has pondered the globe-spanning nature of our work and team (the latter mapped out above), considered Hand in Hand’s origin vis-à-vis Janssen’s, and compared her secondment to a game of football.

“Unlike the usual performance of Austrian footballers,” she concludes, “I have reached quite a few goals at this moment of truth.”

She might be a secondee, but she’ll always come first in our books.

The Johnson & Johnson Corporate Citizenship Trust Secondment Strategy programme is an exciting and innovative programme. It places selected J&J talent across the Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region in long-term assignments (up to six months) with trusted NGO partners, helping to strengthen their organisational capacity and outreach through skill-based volunteering.
