Join two of the UK’s most eminent economists, John Kay and Mervyn King, for a conversation about making decisions in a turbulent and uncertain world.
Kay and King have linked up to write an important new book, scheduled for publication next March, titled Radical Uncertainty. The future has rarely seemed more uncertain. But how do we manage uncertainty when we often do not even know the kinds of things that will happen, far less their probabilities.
John Kay
John Kay is one of Britain’s leading economists. A columnist for the Financial Times for more than 20 years, his work centres on the relationships between economics, finance and business. His career has spanned academic work and think tanks, business schools, company directorships, consultancies and investment companies. Today his main focus is on writing and he is renowned for his ability to express complex ideas clearly and succinctly.
Mervyn King
Mervyn King served as Governor of the Bank of England from 2003 to June 2013. He was previously Deputy Governor from 1998 to 2003, Chief Economist and Executive Director from 1991, and non-executive director of the Bank from 1990 to 1991. He was knighted (GBE) in 2011, made a life peer in 2013, and appointed by The Queen to be a Knight of the Garter in 2014.
In 2016 he published The End of Alchemy.
Prepare to leap to your feet and dance to the beat of the Star Choir from South Africa
The Star Choir is a group of four talented young people who have been hand-picked from the Star for Life schools. They come from very simple rural backgrounds, yet they are born stars. Their individual stories are proof that Star for Life changes young lives.
Led by Triple & Touch and Mark De-Lisser. Performing alongside the choir will be Thandiwe Mbobo.
Alexandra, Countess of Frederisborg, Denmark will join the Star Choir on stage to sing “Wash me away”.
The story of the Star Choir and the renowned musicians who support it
Ken Wennerholm and Göran Rudbo, also known as the celebrated artists Triple & Touch, have been involved with Star for Life from its very beginning in 2005. As musicians, they knew music has the power to change lives and was the perfect tool for reaching some of South Africa and Namibia’s most disadvantaged youths.
Choir leader, Thandiwe Mbobo, together with Ken Wennerholm and Göran Rudbo, use music as a tool to engage young people, helping them increase their self-esteem and take responsibility for their own future. Everyone who has met Thandiwe understands why her name means ‘loveable’.
Ken, Göran and Thandiwe are professional entertainers who never fail to inspire their audience.
Mark De-Lisser, Singology Founder & CEO
Mark De-Lisser is one of the most sought after choral directors and arrangers in the industry. Most recently he arranged “Stand By Me” for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding in 2018, which was performed by The Kingdom Choir at St George’s Chapel, Windsor.

He is the proud musical director of the award winning ACM Gospel Choir, as well as founder of Singology Community Choirs.
Mark’s arrangements are sung the world over, and his unique published series; “SING OUT!” has become the go to for choral directors and singers. Mark’s first book “Inspire Your Choir”, which he wrote alongside fellow choral conductor Dominic Peckham, is published by Bloomsbury and available to order now.
