Employee benefits

From Communications and MEL to Fundraising and Programmes, our team supports hundreds of thousands of members every year. In turn, we support our team, providing a range of enhanced employee benefits that set Hand in Hand apart.

Flexible working

Even before coronavirus, Hand in Hand was an early adopter of work-from-home Fridays.

International travel

Visiting our programmes isn’t a perk; it’s a requirement. Nevertheless, every last one of our team will tell you it’s among the most exciting and rewarding parts of their job.

Pension contributions (above and beyond the norm)

Join our team and we’ll pay 6.5 percent of earnings into your pension each month. That’s more than double the legal requirement of 3 percent, and almost a third more than the UK average of 4.5 percent.

Sector-best parental leave

Hand in Hand’s commitment to financially empowering families, breaking down gender stereotypes and tackling the gender pay gap isn’t restricted to our programmes. That’s why our parental leave policy offers 20 weeks’ full pay or equivalent (e.g. 12 weeks full pay, 16 weeks half pay) to new mothers or primary caregivers and 13 weeks’ full pay or equivalent to new fathers or secondary caregivers, regardless of gender or sexual orientation and equally in the case of adoption or surrogacy. Women and men receive the same amount of pay above the statutory level.

Gym stipend/perks scheme

From working out to dining out we’ve got you covered, providing a monthly gym stipend or Perkbox membership good for free coffee and film rentals, savings at major retailers and more.

Cycle to Work scheme

Receive a bicycle worth up to £1,000 tax-free, repaid over 12 months by means of salary sacrifice.
